New Apartment (And Where I’ve Been)

Where I’ve Been Well, it’s been awhile. Seven months and 29 days to be exact. Needless to say, a lot has changed since I have chosen to be present online. New apartment, new jobs for both my husband and me, new glasses…you get the point. While I have been away I was refueling and recovering and am now fully ready to get back to creating and writing and maybe even start doing some music here and there (which if you know me at all, you know music is a huge part of my life). I originally wrote out a whole long post about why I decided to take a break, but I am now just going to keep this…

Disney 2017: Hollywood Studios

Somehow we have already made it to the end of this Disney series! I can’t believe this is the end, but I have shared all my photos and videos and now it is over. Kind of sad because now it is like I have fully had to say goodbye to Disney for this trip, until next time Mickey. Now onto the stuff about Disney’s smallest park.   Rides and Attractions Some of favorite rides are in Hollywood Studios! I was able to ride the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, the Great Movie Ride, and watch the Muppets 3D show. Those were all the repeats and I loved them all yet again! I know I had rode Star Tours a long time…

Disney 2017: Animal Kingdom

I have been trying to write an introduction about this park and pretty much can’t think of anything other than there is so many animals! So instead I want to mention here how BEAUTIFUL the weather was over our entire trip! We had no rain at all. I think it rained one night, but only because we woke up and the sidewalks and grass seemed extra wet one morning. Other than that, we mostly had sunny and 85. It was truly a treat. Now onto the animals.   Rides and Attractions So I am obsessed with animals, so animal kingdom is pretty much my happy place. It is like a zoo and theme park in one! We were able to…

Disney 2017: Epcot

Onto sharing more about Disney, with my favorite park: Epcot! Lucky for me too it was the flower and garden festival so there was way more amazing sights and therefore I had lots of fun with my camera :). So onto pretty petals, world travels, and so much yummy food!   Rides and Attractions So Epcot doesn’t have a ton of rides, but it does have some of the coolest! I went on so many rides for the first time this trip too! The only ride I went on that I had gone on before was the Universe of Energy. I was so excited to finally ride Soarin’ for the first time–yes, really. It was so cool and I was mostly just…

Disney 2017: Magic Kingdom

It’s time to share all the fun things I did in Disney! I will be sharing our vacation focused in each park, one per day, through the weekend. I am so excited to finally share some of our experience along with all of the rides, attractions, shows, food, and scenery along the way. Of course we started in the most magical of parks and it was oh so enjoyable! Here is a piece of what we did there 🙂   Rides and Attractions I was super fortunate to hit most of my favorites this trip! It all started with Peter Pan, one of my favorites. This is one of the few rides I remember from my first trip to Disney when…

Caramel Latte Cupcakes

Coffee flavored cupcakes and caramel buttercream frosting topped of with finely ground coffee make these Caramel Latte Cupcakes every coffee lover’s dream! I made these sweet and tasty treat for my birthday last week, and they were amazing!   The only sad part was since I am on a diet I only got to enjoy one, but it will be worth it, because we leave for Disney in ten days! Which means I still have a few pounds I would like to lose. I sent them into my husbands work though! Everyone said they were great there too, so now it’s just you who needs to try them!   Also I think it is important to mention that I had…

3 Ingredient Caramel Sauce

I definitely LOVE caramel. Like a lot. I love caramel in my coffee, ice cream, on waffles…yeah. I figured it was about time I learned how to make my own caramel, plus my birthday was coming up! So I scoured the internet for recipes but didn’t find one that could utilize ingredients that were already in my kitchen. On a whim I made a recipe loosely based on some proportions I had found online, and viola! I got this super dark and rich caramel sauce that is full of flavor! I also ended up using this caramel sauce to make a frosting for my birthday caramel latte cupcakes (recipe coming soon). Plus did I mention there’s only 3 ingredients and it…

Bedding Update and Revamp

I feel like I have a problem. I get the desire to change my bedding like all the time. Like probably every three months or so. I held out for awhile, but I thought up a little way to reuse out current bedding so I thought it was time to finally get a white comforter like I have been wanting! See how I did it below 🙂   Master Bedroom – New Bedding The first picture (with the grey comforter) is our old set up in the master bedroom. I really do love this bedding, I just really wanted a white comforter. Our bed is off in a corner so I thought a white comforter would brighten up the space a bit. I bought…

100 Calorie Smoothie

It may be hard to believe, but I have found a way to make a 100 calorie smoothie that is both delicious and nutritious! It is also virtually allergen free (as far as I can tell) because there is no dairy, nuts, wheat, or soy! Which also makes this smoothie vegan, so pretty much anyone can enjoy its deliciousness! Now this smoothie is not meant to be a meal substitute or anything like a normal smoothie would be, more of a snack of a part of a meal. It is only 100 calories after all! I usually have one of these smoothies in the morning while I drive to work, after having some oatmeal in the morning. It also makes the perfect…

Sterling the Bengal Six Month Update

Sterling our cutest ever silver bengal kitten is already six months old! What is even crazier than that is that he has been home for nearly four months already. The time has gone by so fast and he has changed so much! He has a new eating pattern, he got sick for the first time, and is always finding strange places to get stuck in. Plus we have been adventuring outside with him on our deck and just once with him outside on a leash. To see him helplessly flail while on a leash outside, be sure to check out the video at the end of this post!   Eating So Sterling has been a picky eater from day one. He…

BLT Salad with Homemade Avocado Vinaigrette

This BLT salad is a twist on the classic sandwich, made into a super filling and delicious meal! Bacon, kale, spring mix, and tomatoes make up the BLT, add some cheese and dressing to make it complete. This recipe is seriously one of my favorite salads because it is filling, yummy, and it has bacon. Bacon makes everything better, right?!? You will need to cook the bacon in this recipe, so if you want to use up that bacon grease check out this recipe for scallops and bacon cream sauce. Such a great way to use up the grease instead of just tossing it. You can even just make the bacon cream sauce which I enjoy eating over pasta! I like to make a homemade…

Tips to Keep Flowers Fresh in Winter

My house has been a little less exciting and fresh lately because I had been using fake flowers for quite awhile. Although I am able to keep flowers fresh in the spring and summer, flowers are just way harder to care for in the winter! I was lucky enough to talk to the florist in my local grocery store lately and he gave me a new tip that works so well. I just had to share it, because I never would have thought of it, plus some other tips that help my flowers last long. Usually I can have my flowers last anywhere from two to three weeks! Yes, even in the winter!   1. Use the Flower Food! I…

One Pan Scallops and Bacon Cream Sauce

Cooking using only one pan is probably one of my favorite ways of cooking. Less dishes is always better, especially when the meal turns out as good as this one! These scallops seared in bacon grease and smothered in a bacon cream sauce are every seafood lovers dream come true! These little bites of heaven are seriously so good, I was sad that I only got to eat four. The good news is I had ton of bacon cream sauce left over, so I plan to use it on some pasta. I have a feeling it is going to be just as good in that dish! In addition, since none of strips of bacon are actually in the sauce, I like…

Valentine’s Day Decorating Using DIYs

It’s February in two days (how!?) and Valentine’s Day is only 15 days away (double how!?). I love changing up my decor with every season. I tend to get bored of the way my TV stand looks after about a month and am pretty much constantly changing it. So I got to decorating my living room area for the holiday using the paper crafts I shared last week. Decor Here’s yet another post showcasing my TV stand! It is the only real space I feel I have to decorate in my little apartment, so it definitely gets the most attention in these decor posts. Anyways, all of the paper crafts are from last week’s blog post! Then that one little pink jar with…

Avocado Toast – Valentine’s Day Inspired

My final post in this breakfast series just wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t share my simple avocado toast recipe! But with Valentine’s Day around the corner, I decided to make it a little more cute and fun :). So I made my same basic recipe, got a heart cookie cutter involved, and viola! Look at these dang cute little hearts! This recipe is totally adaptable too to however you may prefer your avocado toast. Sometimes I add tomatoes or cheese to mine as well, but this is always my starting point. Hate avocado? No problem! You can just do the toast and egg portion and it will still be super cute for Valentine’s Day morning! Oh and of course…

Six Months Of Marriage!

Holy cow, in just four short days I will have been married for SIX months. I know that isn’t too long, but time has flown and I can’t believe we have been married for half a year! Pretty soon here we will have been together for six years. Like really though, where does the time go!?   Married Life The main difference in lifestyle for Kyle and I after marriage was living together! Well, we actually started living together two months before the wedding because that is just when our leases were both up, but still. We had been together for over five years and had always lived apart, so to be under one roof was definitely a huge adjustment,…

4 Easy Paper Heart DIYs

If you are anything like me you love to decorate and change up your decor for every holiday and season. So I came up with some cute crafts to do that are super cheap! All I used for all of the crafts below was construction paper, string, mod podge, scissors, a hole puncher, and a heart shaped puncher. Since I like to craft from time to time, all I actually had to buy was the construction paper. These made for some fun, cute, and cheap decorations!   Heart Punched Paper Chain For this paper chain you will need white, pink, and red construction paper as well as a heart puncher. Because I already had one, I used a 5/8″ heart puncher that…
