Where I’ve Been Well, it’s been awhile. Seven months and 29 days to be exact. Needless to say, a lot has changed since I have chosen to be present online. New apartment, new jobs for both my husband and me, new glasses…you get the point. While I have been away I was refueling and recovering and am now fully ready to get back to creating and writing and maybe even start doing some music here and there (which if you know me at all, you know music is a huge part of my life). I originally wrote out a whole long post about why I decided to take a break, but I am now just going to keep this…

Bedding Update and Revamp

Bedding Update and Revamp

I feel like I have a problem. I get the desire to change my bedding like all the time. Like probably every three months or so. I held out for awhile, but I thought up a little way to reuse out current bedding so I thought it was time to finally get a white comforter like I have been wanting! See how I did it below 🙂   Master Bedroom – New Bedding The first picture (with the grey comforter) is our old set up in the master bedroom. I really do love this bedding, I just really wanted a white comforter. Our bed is off in a corner so I thought a white comforter would brighten up the space a bit. …

Tips to Keep Flowers Fresh in Winter

Tips to Keep Flowers Fresh in Winter

My house has been a little less exciting and fresh lately because I had been using fake flowers for quite awhile. Although I am able to keep flowers fresh in the spring and summer, flowers are just way harder to care for in the winter! I was lucky enough to talk to the florist in my local grocery store lately and he gave me a new tip that works so well. I just had to share it, because I never would have thought of it, plus some other tips that help my flowers last long. Usually I can have my flowers last anywhere from two to three weeks! Yes, even in the winter!   1. Use the Flower Food! I…

Valentine’s Day Decorating Using DIYs

Valentine’s Day Decorating Using DIYs

It’s February in two days (how!?) and Valentine’s Day is only 15 days away (double how!?). I love changing up my decor with every season. I tend to get bored of the way my TV stand looks after about a month and am pretty much constantly changing it. So I got to decorating my living room area for the holiday using the paper crafts I shared last week. Decor Here’s yet another post showcasing my TV stand! It is the only real space I feel I have to decorate in my little apartment, so it definitely gets the most attention in these decor posts. Anyways, all of the paper crafts are from last week’s blog post! Then …

4 Easy Paper Heart DIYs

4 Easy Paper Heart DIYs

If you are anything like me you love to decorate and change up your decor for every holiday and season. So I came up with some cute crafts to do that are super cheap! All I used for all of the crafts below was construction paper, string, mod podge, scissors, a hole puncher, and a heart shaped puncher. Since I like to craft from time to time, all I actually had to buy was the construction paper. These made for some fun, cute, and cheap decorations!   Heart Punched Paper Chain For this paper chain you will need white, pink, and red construction paper as well as a heart puncher. Because I already had one, I used a 5/8″ heart puncher …

Home Decor – Christmas to Winter

Home Decor – Christmas to Winter

Christmas is over, so it was past time to put away Christmas decorations. However, this year I decided to leave out all of the decor that didn’t have red or relate directly to the holidays.  Behold all things green, white, silver, and snowy! I took away my red poinsettia vase and replaced it with the snowflake candle holder that was already out in a different space in the stand. I then took out the Christmas decor and put in my fun and new winter decor! All of these items I put out were gifts so it was extra fun to find a place for them. Before and After I only had four decorations that I took away from the …

Salt Dough Ornaments – 3 Different Ways

Salt Dough Ornaments – 3 Different Ways

Making salt dough ornaments this year was such a fun experience! One of my favorite traditions growing up was making our own ornaments for the tree. Every year that followed when we pulled those ornaments out of the box, it brought on a wave of nostalgia and a smile to my face. This year I made these super simple salt dough ornaments. Although though next year I will probably try something different, I might make one or two of these again too. They were super easy, fun, and affordable (granted you already have a lot of craft supplies around, like I do 🙂 ).   Making the Dough Making the dough is super simple. The formula is 2 parts flour, 1 part…

Christmas Tree Decor

Christmas Tree Decor

It’s my first ever Christmas tree! I may bit a bit biased, but I am totally obsessed with this thing. I love the classic look of the silver and red all over the tree, with just a sprinkling of my own fun ornaments thrown in here and there. It was so fun to shop around and find what I wanted for my tree, and also trying to get the best deal. I pretty much bought everything on the days they were 50% off, so I am also crazy proud of my patience/bargain shopping skills. I know I’m a broken record by now, but I got all of the decorations from Michael’s and Target! The tree itself, the …

House Updates

House Updates

It has already been 5 months since we moved into our new place, and so many changes have occurred! Considering the last time I gave a full update was when I moved in, there have been quite a few changes since then. A few weeks ago I shared with you all my fall decor, which did a give a preview to some of these updates (click here to see that post). But there are so many other new things we have gotten that have made our home more organized and put together!   Living Room In the living room I was very excited to get end tables that matched our TV stand! These end tables were SUPER affordable too, which…

Fall Face Lift

Fall Face Lift

Look around you, the blog looks all crisp and new! What what! Anyways, I figured it was time for a revamp. The old layout was just not everything I wanted, so I did something about that. I am in LOVE with this new look, and I hope you appreciate it too. In addition to the good old blog, my house has also had a bit of face lift. I bought all kinds of fall decor this year now that I finally have my own place and had the best time putting it all out! All the decorations are from either Target or Michael’s, the (fake) floral arrangements were designed by yours truly, and any pumpkins, gourds, hay, corn, or …

Flower Hour

Flower Hour

Ever since moving in to my own space, I have been obsessed with making floral arrangements! I find so much joy in going to the store, picking out some DIY bunches, and coming home and putting them into a beautiful decoration for my home. Today I am going to show what I do weekly to maintain flowers in my home. A weekly time I like to call, Flower Hour. 1. Assess old flowers Before I even go shopping I do a quick visual assessment of the flowers already in my house. I determine what is still alive, what can be repurposed, and what is dying. This week, TWO of my arrangements were still looking great, minus having dirty water,…

We Moved!

We Moved!

For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you have seen over the past week and half or so I have been moving. This move was extra exciting for me because I have moved in with my fiance. This is our first time living together, but neither of us had lived completely on our own before. Therefore, there are a lot of things we didn’t have, and even more things we still don’t have. Here is a sneaky peaky of what has gone in so far since we have moved in, and some plans for what I hope to be able to do to make this space a home! BedroomsThe master bedroom is where we have done …
