It’s time to share all the fun things I did in Disney! I will be sharing our vacation focused in each park, one per day, through the weekend. I am so excited to finally share some of our experience along with all of the rides, attractions, shows, food, and scenery along the way. Of course we started in the most magical of parks and it was oh so enjoyable! Here is a piece of what we did there 🙂
Rides and Attractions
I was super fortunate to hit most of my favorites this trip! It all started with Peter Pan, one of my favorites. This is one of the few rides I remember from my first trip to Disney when I was only six! It is definitely a bit dated these days but I still love it. We were also able to ride other classics like It’s a Small World, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Buzz Lightyear!
One of my favorite parts of Disney is that you haven’t seen it all, there’s always something new to do. This trip I went on all kinds of rides I hadn’t gone on before. We rode Pirates of the Caribbean, it was only my first time, but it was really neat! I love Disney rides because of how fascinating they are more than I even enjoy the thrill rides. In addition we went on the Carousel of Progress (fascinating), the Jungle Cruise (hilarious), and Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor (even more hilarious)!
This trip was also extra special because this was the last time we would be able to see Wishes, the firework show that has been going on in Magic Kingdom for the past 14 years. The show ends next month, but I have a feeling the next show will be even more spectacular. We actually watched the show from Tomorrowland sitting on chairs we pulled out from tables, it was so nice! It sounds strange, and the fireworks weren’t behind the castle, but we were so far away from the crowd. Of course when we went to leave we were completely behind the crowd… but we got home. Eventually.
Food is probably my favorite part of most vacations. Well. Most days really. Anyway, one of my favorite places to eat in Disney is at the Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom. It is a buffet with so many yummy options and you get to meet Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger! They come right up to your table to visit and you can take pictures with them! Highly recommend going and making a reservation if you plan to.
Other than the Crystal Palace we only did some quick dining options, that were yummy, but none really worth mentioning. However I had all kinds of snacks I had never tried before! I finally got to have one of those chocolate covered Mickey ice cream bars. It was so much better than I imagined too. The chocolate was way darker than I expected! I loved it so much I had more than one. 🙂 I also tried a Dole Whip, it was amazing, light, custardy, and amazing. Other than that we just had some popcorn and some cinnamon sugar almonds, which were also fantastic.
Here is where I share the bests and the worsts with a list of mosts!
- Most kid-oriented. There is a ton of rides for kids, characters to meet, and parades.
- Most characters and movie oriented. This piggy backs off the last but there is so much Mickey. In great way.
- Most crowded. Always a ton of people, always waits on the popular rides.
- Most to do. The most rides, lots of shopping, and so much to eat! Also makes it most tiring.
- Most amazing castle 😉
What I Missed
I didn’t get a chance to go on Splash Mountain this trip, and I am pretty sure this is the only time I have gone to Disney and not gone on this ride. The only chance we really had to go was at night. I didn’t want to get wet then, but it is okay! I am sure it will be there next time. The Hall of Presidents was also under renovation to welcome our newest president, so I was a bit bummed we couldn’t go in this trip.
There’s also some rides that had crazy long waits, namely the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. I am still not totally sure what all the hype is about at this ride, but whatever is, it must be something because the wait was pretty much anywhere to 2-4 hours. Pretty sure it is just a kids ride with some games to play while you wait. If you know why the wait is so long or have any insight please let me know!
So most of the pictures from this trip are more artistic and of the scenery, but in this set are the only pictures that I actually had taken of us on the trip–other than those oh so attractive ride pictures. Enjoy main street, the castle, some flowers, and my last glimpse at Wishes.
And that’s it! Be sure to check out my posts on the other parks below 🙂
