Mango Kale Smoothie

Back at it again with another healthy breakfast. The good news is, not only are these recipes delicious, but I have actually been eating them and sticking to my health goals so far this year! Woo! Anyways, this mango kale smoothie is a quick, healthy, and yummy way to start your day. I love having smoothies for breakfast because they fill me up, I get great nutrients, and are basically a treat. I mean let’s be real, blended frozen fruit is really only ever one dairy product away from being ice cream. If you have been afraid of making green smoothies in the past, this recipe is the one to try. The mango masks the kale perfectly to make this the…

About Me – Selfie Session

This is shortest post ever, but I bought this remote for my camera and I hadn’t used it yet…until today. It is seriously so useful and I had way too much fun! Here are six of my favorites, plus there is one in the sidebar. So I suppose that’s seven! Anyways, I took these photos to update my social media and finally write my about me page. To read a little bit about my life or just to see a bunch of pictures, be sure to check it out!

Strawberry Greek Yogurt Chia Bowl

Strawberry Greek Yogurt Chia Bowl

This yummy breakfast (like most of my recipes) was a happy accident one morning when we were out of eggs, bread, and cereal, so I needed to find something else to fill me. So I went to the fridge, grabbed some yogurt, topped it with some strawberries, a Mamma Chia packet, and granola, and it became one of my favorite breakfasts! I love this breakfast because it is quick, easy, and packed with nutrition. This recipe calls for a Mamma Chia packet, which can be found in the organic section of most grocery stores (or by clicking here on Amazon), but plain chia seeds will work just fine as well! If using plain chia seeds be sure to let them sit…

Home Decor – Christmas to Winter

Christmas is over, so it was past time to put away Christmas decorations. However, this year I decided to leave out all of the decor that didn’t have red or relate directly to the holidays.  Behold all things green, white, silver, and snowy! I took away my red poinsettia vase and replaced it with the snowflake candle holder that was already out in a different space in the stand. I then took out the Christmas decor and put in my fun and new winter decor! All of these items I put out were gifts so it was extra fun to find a place for them. Before and After I only had four decorations that I took away from the TV stand, so…

Brown Sugar Cinnamon Oatmeal

I have really been striving to eat healthy breakfasts lately, and I have found quite a few quick and easy recipes that I have been enjoying! I will be sharing these recipes over the next couple weeks, starting with this yummy and simple oatmeal recipe! I have never been a fan of oatmeal. I have always found it mushy and bland. I tried so many different recipes until I played around and fell upon this delicious recipe. Now I eat oatmeal nearly every morning! It is the most perfect, warm, and sweet way to start off my day. The recipe below is really just approximations of the ingredients. I usually just eyeball the oatmeal, but this is a general good idea of how…

Brown Sugar Spice Cookies

So I hate gingerbread. That’s right, I admit it, one of this season’s classics is probably one of my least favorite cookies in the world. But I love spiced treats and drinks, so I wanted to find something that would work for me. Brown sugar spice cookies were most certainly the solution. These sweet and rich cookies, spiced with cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg, have quickly become my own Christmas classic. I have already made them twice, in three days! Recipe Print Brown Sugar Spice Cookies Prep Time 30 mins Cook Time 7 mins Total Time 37 mins   Brown sugar spice cookies taste like Christmas in your mouth! Softer and subtler than gingerbread, these cookies are sure to…

Salt Dough Ornaments – 3 Different Ways

Salt Dough Ornaments – 3 Different Ways

Making salt dough ornaments this year was such a fun experience! One of my favorite traditions growing up was making our own ornaments for the tree. Every year that followed when we pulled those ornaments out of the box, it brought on a wave of nostalgia and a smile to my face. This year I made these super simple salt dough ornaments. Although though next year I will probably try something different, I might make one or two of these again too. They were super easy, fun, and affordable (granted you already have a lot of craft supplies around, like I do 🙂 ).   Making the Dough Making the dough is super simple. The formula is 2 parts flour, 1 part…

Peppermint Chocolate Chip Mocha Cookies

Peppermint chocolate chip mocha cookies are my Christmas cookie dream come true! It all started with a simple idea based on my two favorite holiday drinks, a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks and a Peppermint Chocolate Chip Milkshake from Chickfila. When I started this Christmas cookie series I wanted one cookie that wasn’t being done everywhere, so I combined my two favorite drinks to land on these little balls of cookie heaven! And trust me, they do not dissapoint. I also had to try and figure out how to get coffee flavor into cookies. Strong brewed coffee wasn’t likely to do the trick, neither were dark roast coffee grounds (which were my only two ideas on my own). Espresso powder sounded promising, but I…

Chasing My Dreams

Chasing My Dreams

I have been in the funkiest of funks lately. I have analyzed my life and had difficulty finding answers. What have I accomplished? What do I want to accomplish still? How can I make my life better? What are my dreams? Where I am going? How will I get there? Although I don’t know the answers to all of those questions, I do know that I have dreams, many of which I have been hesitant to pursue for many, many years. Then about eight or so months ago I stumbled upon this quote: …and then I started this blog, created two YouTube channels, and got to work pumping out content. But let’s back up for a second. I first found YouTube as something more…

Christmas Tree Decor

It’s my first ever Christmas tree! I may bit a bit biased, but I am totally obsessed with this thing. I love the classic look of the silver and red all over the tree, with just a sprinkling of my own fun ornaments thrown in here and there. It was so fun to shop around and find what I wanted for my tree, and also trying to get the best deal. I pretty much bought everything on the days they were 50% off, so I am also crazy proud of my patience/bargain shopping skills. I know I’m a broken record by now, but I got all of the decorations from Michael’s and Target! The tree itself, the star, the lights, and the string…

Meet Sterling!!!

Meet Sterling! It is safe to say that since Sterling (our silver bengal kitten) entered our home our lives have been flipped upside down. He is every bit as crazy as a kitten should be times 100. That comes with the breed of course, and I knew this going in, and totally thought I was prepared, but boy was I wrong. Now don’t get me wrong, he sleeps a ton, is cuter than sin, and loves to play on his own, yet he is the biggest spaz of a cat I have ever met–and I absolutely love it!   Bringing Him Home We arrived at our breeder’s home on a crisp Saturday morning and were greeted with the news from her…

Slow Cooker White Chicken Chili

Day two of soup week, and probably my favorite coup of the three, white chicken chili! This delicious and filling chili may even be my preference over traditional chili. Yes, it is just that good. Oh and it’s made in a slow cooker, which definitely makes it the easiest of the three! I love that with this recipe I can place the ingredients all in my slow cooker in the morning, let it cook all day, shred the chicken and ass remaining ingredients when I get home from work, and an hour later dinner is ready. I also love how this chili has just the slightest kick, so not too hot or spicy if you are like me and that…
