Potato Kale Soup

Welcome to soup week! I will be sharing three of my favorite soup recipes, today until Friday, and each recipe will have a corresponding video! I have been so excited and preparing this little series for weeks, so I really hope you enjoy these recipes. ๐Ÿ™‚ Today I am starting off with one of my favorites to make, as well as eat, potato kale soup. This soup is hearty and delicious, as well as healthy and relatively low calories! I made this soup basically on accident one day by using the leftovers I had in my fridge (this is how many of my recipes come to be) and it was so good I have made it many times since!  …

Preparing for Kitty

Kyle and I are so excited to be bringing home our kitten within the next 2-3 weeks, and we have been buying all the things we will need to make our little guy happy! We have a name picked out, but are keeping it on the down low until he comes into our home ๐Ÿ™‚ For those of you who may not be all caught up on the kitten business he is a silver bengal kitten and he was born on August 20th and he is just the cutest dang thing I have ever seen! There has been a lot we have had to buy in order to prepare for his homecoming. We started by getting all of the essentials…

Fall Hikes

Lately I have been trying to get back on the healthy train–eating right, exercising, drinking tons of water, just all of the usual stuff. As a result of this and the cooler temperatures we have been experiencing, my husband and I have been going on more hikes than usual. It’s been so fun and fabulous and lately so FALL. In addition hikes are an amazingly fun way to get in some exercise for your day! I particularly love going to this trail because there is a flat trail that runs parallel with the river in addition to a hilly, more intense trail that goes through the woods. Oh and it’s only ten minutes from my house, which is convenient–even in…

House Updates

It has already been 5 months since we moved into our new place, and so many changes have occurred! Considering the last time I gave a full update was when I moved in, there have been quite a few changes since then. A few weeks ago I shared with you all my fall decor, which did a give a preview to some of these updates (click here to see that post). But there are so many other new things we have gotten that have made our home more organized and put together!   Living Room In the living room I was very excited to get end tables that matched our TV stand! These end tables were SUPER affordable too, which…

Fall Face Lift

Look around you, the blog looks all crisp and new! What what! Anyways, I figured it was time for a revamp. The old layout was just not everything I wanted, so I did something about that. I am in LOVE with this new look, and I hope you appreciate it too. In addition to the good old blog, my house has also had a bit of face lift. I bought all kinds of fall decor this year now that I finally have my own place and had the best time putting it all out! All the decorations are from either Target or Michael’s, the (fake) floral arrangements were designed by yours truly, and any pumpkins, gourds, hay, corn, or mums…

Favorite Wedding Photos!!!

There are no words for how ecstatic I am to be doing this little post! My wedding photos came in this weekend and they are just absolutely STUNNING! Now disclaimer, I am just sharing the prettiest and funnest images to me, so a lot of the reception and the ceremony and family shots aren’t in here–but they were all great too! All photo creds go to the wonderful and amazing Tori Radick of Meagan Nicole Photography. (click either of those links to get the deets) I don’t even feel like writing anymore words because these photos speak for themselves. Enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you enjoyed this small sampling of wedding photos, and I would highly recommend checking out Tori and…

Moving On

Some of my favorite posts to create are when I just write down my feelings and life events. I enjoy doing this periodically so that someday I can look back and reflect on how much has changed and where I have come from. It has been a long time since I have written a post solely on my thoughts and life, so here it is. Since graduating college last December, I feel as though I have been living in an in between. I was engaged so I was wedding planning and didn’t want the pressure of a full time job, so I stayed part time at the restaurant I had been working at for a year and eventually got in…

St. Maarten – Dawn Beach

Welcome to the fifth and final post about our honeymoon! It has been so fun to look back and share all of these memories, and it’s already been a month since this all happened! The time has gone by so fast and I seriously can’t believe it! I don’t have much to say in this post other than a little bit about the beach near where we stayed. The beach was Dawn Beach and it was quiet, nearly empty, and beautiful. I was so grateful that the beach wasn’t overcrowded or full, and I think this was definitely a benefit to not staying in a resort heavy area of the island. There were only three hotels in the area (including…

St. Maarten – Sunset Dinner Cruise

Our dinner cruise while on our honeymoon in St. Maarten was probably one of the most relaxing things we did all vacation! There were also a ton of unique experiences and sights we were able to have while we sailed…read on for more about that. We arrived at the marina only a few minutes early, but still early enough! We took our shoes off, got onto our boat, and took a seat along with a ton of other people. I say a ton, but what I really mean, is about twenty people or so. Oh and the CUTEST two year old ever. She didn’t cry for more than like a minute one time either. She was just such a little…

St. Maarten – Butterfly Farm and Phillipsburg

Welcome to yet another post about our vacation in St. Maarten! This one doesn’t involve any pretty beaches or the ocean, but it does have tons of butterfly photos! So basically Kyle and I were quite literally fried from our first two days in St. Maarten, partially because we are pale and partially because our sunscreen was no bueno! Side note DO NOT buy Target brand sunscreen, unless you like being so burnt it hurts to move. Due to being burnt to a crisp, we decided to stay mainly indoors on Wednesday, and went to the island’s butterfly farm and shopped at the shops in Phillipsburg. Butterfly Farm There isn’t real much to say here other that there were a…

St. Maarten – Captain Alan’s Boat Tour

After a few days of rest in St. Maarten, Kyle and I woke up nice and early and went to Captain Alan’s four hour, three island, and snorkel boat tour! It was definitely one of my favorite parts of the vacation and I got a ton of underwater footage of what we saw, a lot of which you will see in our honeymoon video on Friday! The Boat Our crew was simply amazing, super helpful and knowledgeable about the island and what we were seeing, but the boat was what really made the trip! The boat we were on had seating where we could sit on the front of the boat facing outwards, which was really cool! We only got…

St. Maarten – Princess Heights Condo Hotel

I am so excited to be revisiting our honeymoon this week, and to be sharing it with all of you! I wanted to start off this series with where we stayed, and honestly it was so much better than I expected. We were in such good proximity to things to do, places to eat, and our view was incredible! Finding the Hotel Okay so this was definitely the worst/hardest part of the entire vacation. Not only was I driving in a foreign country, but it was raining the entire time, and we had very crappy directions to begin with. We did eventually find it, but it was mostly luck. I basically had pulled on the side of the road to…

I Got Married!!!

I have been MIA on my blog for almost three weeks. The break was unannounced, but I definitely needed time to focus on everything that was going on! Time to get back on my Tuesday/Friday posting, and I am so excited because I have a lot of great content planned. So as the title suggests, and I am sure anyone reading this already knows, I got married! Two Fridays ago, on July 29th, 2016, I was fortunate enough to marry my best friend :). The wedding was really everything I could have ever imagined, and more. We had great food, great company, great music, and dancing–lots of dancing. The Deets The weather was perfect, warm, but luckily it was an…

Bachelorette Party!!!

This past weekend was my bachelorette party, and it was just simply a blast. I feel so grateful that I have such great friends who were willing to take the time and make sure I had a memorable night. Here’s what all went down and how it happened…in briefย  ; ) The Story So this is what I knew before Friday: 1. I was having an overnight party 2. My three roommates from college were organizing it 3. I was being picked up at 3:00 pm …and that was pretty much it. I had no real plans for Friday, so I spent most of my day finishing up packing, laying on the couch on my phone, and getting ready. In…

Fitbit Comparison & Review

Fitbits are definitely a craze that many have joined lately, that I am definitely guilty of joining. I am already on my third one…and I will get to why I am on my third one shortly. But first and foremost, let me start off this post by saying I have loved all of Fitbits, and I feel you can’t go wrong with any of them. My Fitbit Journey As previously mentioned, I am already on my third Fitbit. My very first Fitbit was the Charge. It was my first, and I loved it, but it fell off one day never to be seen again (AKA, I lost it). I was devastated when lost my Charge, but I didn’t have the…

Easy Teeth Whitening Routine

I have struggled my entire life with keeping my pearly whites to be, well, even remotely white. I feel like my teeth have been yellow, yellow, yellow for as long as I can remember. I was so embarrassed by them that I would even edit all my photos so that my teeth were whiter–until recently. I have FINALLY found a routine that not only keeps my teeth white, but is SUPER easy to keep on top of. Because let’s be real–I am pretty lazy. But even I have had no problem maintaining this simple routine, and my teeth are whiter for it! Now they aren’t like blindingly, perfectly, sparkly white. But for me, they are the whitest they have ever…
